FORT ABERCROMBIE, N.D. - Fort Abercrombie State Historic Site will host a free Sunday History Program Special Event on August 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. Activities will include music, educational presentations, and refreshments. The Norwegian Krigen Klub Accordion Band will entertain visitors from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by the executive director of the Ottertail County Historical Society, Curtis Schuelke, presenting “The Transformation of Norwegian Churches in the Region” and Fort Abercrombie staff member Paul Nelson’s “Andriesen Family and their 1862 Pie Cabinet.” Following the presentations, a freewill offering Pie and Ice Cream Social will complete the afternoon. This program is co-sponsored by Fort Abercrombie State Historic Site and the Friends of Fort Abercrombie. Fort Abercrombie is a state historic site managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Admission is $8 adults and $3 youth. Guided tours are available daily.
