The Northwest Arts Center will host a closing reception from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 16 for “Regalia” by Linda Whitney, Valley City, ND and “Americas 2018: Paperworks.” The two exhibits have been on display at the new Walter Piehl Gallery in the lower level of the Gordon B. Olson Library at Minot State University since January 9. “Americas 2018: Paperworks” features 40 contemporary artworks “on or of” paper, representing artists from 19 states and one from Australia. “Regalia” is a solo exhibit of mezzotint prints by Whitney, themed on Native American powwow regalia. Whitney served as juror for the Paperworks exhibit, and earned her solo show as Best of Show artist in the 2017 Paperworks. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Parking and visitor entrance are on the south side of the library. Exhibits and reception are free and open to the public. Parking in campus lots is unrestricted after 5 p.m. This program is funded in part by a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts, which receives funding from the state legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
