On Thursday, June 14, the Former Governors’ Mansion State Historic Site is hosting Flag Day events from 1 to 3 p.m. The event is free and open to all ages, with activities geared especially toward children. Outdoor activities include pinwheel making, flag making and decorating, and music. Lemonade and cookies will be served. After pinwheels and flags have been created and decorated, a small parade will take place around the block. Children may bring drums, kazoos, or other instruments for the parade. The event will be moved indoors in the event of inclement weather.
