State school superintendent Kirsten Baesler has launched a new “strategic visioning process” – with a goal of strengthening public education in North Dakota.

Baesler said this will involve various state educational agencies and education groups.

"There are a lot of things going on right now in North Dakota," Baesler said. "Each agency is working very hard."

But Baesler said right now,the agencies are going in their own direction.

"So the strategic visioning process is to get everyone together, in order to harness what it is that we believe are the key elements that our students should possess to be successful in life," Baesler said.

The task force will hold four regional forums, to give parents, students, community members, teachers and administrators a chance to have their say about education. The first such forum will be at Fargo South High School Monday (Sept. 18th). Otehrs are scheduled for Bismarck's Dorothy Moses Elementary School Tuesday (Sept. 19th); New Town High School (Sept. 20th); and Belcourt Turtle Mountain Community High School (Sept. 27th).
