A Coffee Cup from Coffee ~ Ron Smith with Spring Tips ~ Diversity at Work ~ Farming Veterans

The NDSU Technology Incubator is home to a number of interesting business start-ups. Last August we first visited with Dr. Chad Ulven and Corey Kratcha of c2renew, which incorporates agricultural by-products into plastics. Today they return with an update, including news of a coffee cup made out of coffee! To begin production they’ve launched a Kickstarter campaign. ~~~ Horticulturist Ron Smith is here with some late winter tips to help you prepare for spring, which seems to be coming early this year. ~~~ Engaging cultural and religious diversity at work is a growing issue, and to help address it, a conference on that theme will soon be held. Joining us to discuss the issue, and the conference, is Dr. Faith Wambura Ngunjiri, director of the Lorentzsen Center for Faith and Work at Concordia College. The conference is titled: Global Mindset: Engaging Cultural and Religious Diversity at Work. ~~~ Tom Isern has this week’s Plains Folk essay, “Open Range.” ~~~ Many veterans have returned home to resume civilian lives, but it can be a tough transition. Congress wants to help jump-start the process – and for some, that means a second life on the farm. Harvest Public Media’s Abby Wendle.
