Family searches for missing pregnant Fargo woman

D. Webster

A family in Fargo is looking for a 22 year old woman who went missing over the weekend.

Savanna Lafontaine-Greywind is 8 months pregnant. She was last seen on Saturday afternoon in her apartment building in north Fargo. After ordering a pizza, she went to an upstairs apartment to help a neighbor who said she needed help sewing a dress. She never returned to her apartment, and her family reported her missing later that afternoon.

At a vigil in Fargo, family members and friends played drums and burned tobacco in a prayer ceremony for the return of Savanna and her unborn child. Pastor Dan Forsberg is chair of the Native American Christian Center in Fargo. He says he has known the family for many years.

"It's really, really hard to stand in places where we don't understand - but we believe God is with us, and we believe God is with Savanna. So this is a moment to pray and entrust her into God's care."

Police have conducted two K9 searches, an aerial search was performed by US Customs and Border Patrol, and the Fargo Fire Department has searched the Red River. Her neighbor's apartment has been searched three times, and numerous family and friends have conducted their own searches all so far turning up nothing.
