Fargo Police investigating homicide, man in custody

D. Webster

Fargo Police have one suspect in custody and are looking for a possible witness in connection to an early morning homicide that took place in North Fargo this morning.

Police Chief Dave Todd says a man called Red River Regional Dispatch from a Holiday gas station to report that he'd been in a physical altercation earlier that morning that resulted in another man's death. 29 year old Daniel Benjamin Habiger was then detained at that Holiday gas station without incident, and he remains in custody. Police then located the body of the deceased man in a lower level apartment at 701 10th Street North. Todd says Fargo Police are also looking for a possible witness to the crime.

"He is identified as 45 year old David Patrick Williams. He is homeless, and at this time we don't have information indicating he is a threat to the public, but - was possibly in the apartment when this homicide occurred."

Todd says anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of Williams should contact the Fargo Police Department.

Todd says charges are pending further investigation.
