"Imagine Thriving" ~ Leonid Meteor Shower ~ Minot Winner of Bush Prize for Community Innovation

Wednesday, November 14 – Imagine Thriving is an organization concerned about the mental health of school children. They work with local school staff, health providers and other members of the community to identify the barriers to mental wellness. Joining us to discuss their work and what they’ve learned is executive director Heather Zinger. ~~~ Chuck Lura shares a Natural North Dakota essay on the Leonid Meteor Shower. ~~~ Since the late 1970s, congressional leaders have placed food-aid programs in the farm bill, in part to attract votes from urban legislators, whose districts had the highest need. But as harvest Public Media’s Peggy Lowe reports, that need has been shifting to the countryside. ~~~ One of this year’s winners of the 2018 Bush Prize for Community Innovation is the Mid-Dakota Education Cooperative, based in Minot. Here to tell us more about the cooperative is the executive director, Luke Schaefer.
