Pads and tampons are a necessity, not a luxury. This is the mindset fueling 17-year-old Bridget McManamon. The Moorhead, MN high school student is leading an effort to empower women and improve access to menstrual necessities. She started the charitable organization Herstory to help young women lacking the money or know how for proper feminine health. She says it boosts confidence and well being. McManamon is also active in speech and theater. She plans to study Political Science and Women's Studies in college.
