Sensational Sundays: Young Bards perform "Shakespeare Our Way"

Sensational Sundays: Young Bards perform "Shakespeare Our Way"

Join us for a free performance of "Shakespeare Our Way" by The Young Bards, Capitol Shakespeare’s youth theater program. It will take a new approach, showing various ways Shakespeare can be performed—comedy, drama, romance, and more. The actors will perform scenes from "Romeo and Juliet," "Merchant of Venice," "Much Ado About Nothing," "Two Gentlemen of Verona," and "A Midsummer Nights Dream." Included in the program will be Artistic Director Erin Weichel speaking on the growth of young actors to adult actors, and how important Shakespeare is to theater and the world at large. Veteran actors who are participating in Capitol Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" will also perform select monologues during this program.

This performance is part of the State Historical Society of North Dakota's Sensational Sundays series. Sensational Sundays are free cultural programs that include a variety of lectures, concerts, movies, and tours. Young Bards will also perform prior to Capitol Shakespeare performances of "Julius Caesar," July 21-24, outdoors at the Prairie Amphitheater of the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum.
