Thanks for turning in!
Thanks to the candidates for agreeing to the debate. Thanks to AARP North Dakota for helping bring this to the North Dakota (and global) audience.
A lot of agreement tonight.
Both candidates have said they agree, or they rephrase what their opponent has said.
The Kids are alright
Was that a nod to The Who?
"Innovation not regulation"
Candidate Miller has said this phrase twice so-far tonight. Looking back, that was a phrase Doug Burgum was using as he tried the waters in a run for the Presidency.
What we've learned so far...
Both are strong advocates for former President Donald Trump. Both have worked in family business. Neither is a "career politician."
Fun Fact:
Tammy Miller's family business was called "Miller's: The Shopping Center on the Prairie."
The orchestra is warming up and the guests are being seated.
Well, not exactly. But final touches are being put in place as we anticipate the start of the 2024 ND GOP Governor Primary Debate.
Armstrong Wins Coin Toss
The first question of tonight's debate will go to Congressman Kelly Armstrong. He won the coin toss.
Both campaigns have arrived at Prairie Public in Fargo
Lt. Gov. Tammy Miller and Congressman Kelly Armstrong are at Prairie Public studios in downtown Fargo. AARP Director Josh Askvig is also in attendance; AARP North Dakota is sponsoring the debate. Prairie Public News Director Dave Thompson is moderating tonight's debate.
