Bismarck, ND – The state -owned Mill and Elevator in Grand Forks is continuing its profit sharing plan.
Mill manager Vance Taylor calls it "gain sharing" -- and what workers receive is based on how profits increase.
"Having a plan versus not having a plan -- we definitely have better numbers and better results at the end of the year," said Taylor.
Taylor says the plan went into effect last year -- and he says he can demonstrate that it makes a difference in terms of turning a profit.
The plan had to be approved by the state's Industrial Commission. The facility is the only state-owned mill and elevator in the United States.
