Autism Spectrum Disorder Task Force Meets

Members of the Autism Spectrum Disorder Task Force are meeting to discuss changes and additions to North Dakota’s autism services.

The group looks at annual plan and makes needed updates. The group also is notified of updates from agencies that received funding from the last legislative session.

JoAnne Hoesel is the director of the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Division of the North Dakota Department of Human Services. She is also the chairperson of the task force.

“The Department of Human Services and the Department of Health all have specific targeted funding, so we will be getting information from each of those,” Hoesel said. “It’s early in the biennium, it just started July 1st, but it will give the task force a good sense of direction.”

Hoesel said the group will also look at the new diagnostic manual of autism services.
