North Dakota’s Republican Convention has endorsed its candidates for Insurance Commissioner, and US House of Representatives.
They have chosen Jon Godfread for Insurance Commissioner. Godfread was born in Bismarck, grew up in Grand Forks, and holds a law degree from the University of North Dakota. Godfread says North Dakota has seen many changes in the past 20 years, and says he is committed to making sure North Dakota remains a state full of opportunities for years to come. Godfread says he promises to be fair and transparent as Insurance Commissioner.
Running uncontested at the convention, he was chosen unanimously. Godfread currently also has no Democratic opponent.
The Convention has also chosen incumbent Congressman Kevin Cramer to run for US House. Cramer was chosen over DuWayne Hendrickson of Minot. He has served two terms as North Dakota’s lone representative in Congress. Cramer’s opponent is Chase Iron Eyes, who is North Dakota’s first endorsed Native American to run for a national seat in Congress.
