Talking farm bill and federal budgets In Moorhead

“It was really sort of a ‘Not Unexpected’ outcome…”

That’s how Minnesota U-S Senator Amy Klobuchar describes Thursday night’s vote on the Senate budget resolution. Klobuchar says the mostly party-line vote is a non-binding precursor to an actual budget vote before the end of the year…

“…Even Republicans that voted for it talked about how there’s going to be some major disputes over how that budget goes through  because there’s concerns about cuts in military, there’s cuts in domestic, and there’s mostly, concerns about the proposed over 20% cut to agriculture.”

Speaking with Farm group leaders in Moorhead, Klobuchar says with low commodity prices any cuts to ag programs would not be a smart move.
