766 new COVID-19 cases found, one additional death confirmed

Today's test positivity rate is 7.24 percent, while the death toll has risen to 1,611.

The state health department has confirmed one more death related to COVID-19, bringing the statewide death toll to 1,611.

Deaths are reported to the state health department by facilities or by official death record, and can take up to ten days to be confirmed.

According to the state health department’s coronavirus dashboard, 766 individuals from 45 counties have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the new statewide positive total to 132,158.

These results were from a pool of 11,228 tests for a daily positive rate of 7.24 percent.

347 of those positives were PCR tests, and 419 were antigen tests.

2,444,584 total tests have been administered for the novel coronavirus. 503,691 unique individuals have been tested.

155 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.

Since yesterday 488 individuals have been confirmed as recovered, bringing the recovered total to 126,208. This leaves 4,339 active confirmed cases.
