Omicron wave continues spread; 2,631 new COVID-19 cases and two more deaths confirmed

North Dakota's active cases have climbed to just under 7,500.

The state health department has confirmed two more deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the statewide death toll to 2,043.

Deaths are reported to the state health department by facilities or by official death record, and can take up to ten days to be confirmed.

According to the state health department’s coronavirus dashboard, 2,631 individuals from 51 counties have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the new statewide positive total to 190,144.

These results were from a pool of 15,937 tests for a daily positive rate of 18.78 percent.

1,226 of those positives were PCR tests, and 1,405 were antigen tests.

3,184,268 total tests have been administered for the novel coronavirus. 578,444 unique individuals have been tested.

128 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.

Since yesterday 1,221 individuals have been confirmed as recovered, bringing the recovered total to 180,638. This leaves 7,463 active confirmed cases.
