"Why People Die By Suicide" ~ Solar Workshop ~ PBS Kids Writers Contest
The College of Science and Mathematics at NDSU organizes an annual community lecture, and this year’s talk is titled, “Why People Die By Suicide.” It’s presented by Dr. Thomas Joiner, department of psychology, Florida State University. Also joining us is Dr. Sylvio May, NDSU Department of Physics, chair of the organizing committee for the event. ~~~ NDSU historian Tom Isern shares a Plains Folk essay called, “Ghost Signs.” ~~~ Ken Hellevang is vice president of the North Dakota Alliance for Renewable Energy. “NDARE” will be holding a solar workshop May 12 in Mandan for organizations, businesses and individuals interested in this growing industry. ~~~ The regional winners of the PBS Kids Writers Contest have been announced. Joining us to read a few are Jena Haakenson, community engagement coordinator; and Bill Thomas, director of radio.
