Today is “Tartan Day,” a celebration of Scottish heritage commemorating date on which the Declaration of Arbroath was signed in 1320. Joining us to discuss all things Scottish is Scotsman Graeme Wyllie, a professor at Concordia College. ~~~ Tom Isern has this week’s Plains Folk essay, “Bring Over Six.” ~~~ Clint Boyd, the senior paleontologist at the North Dakota Geological Survey, joins us to preview two presentations coming this Friday at UND. The first is called “Elucidating North Dakota’s past using tiny vertebrate fossils: Big implications from specimens less than an inch.” The second, at a banquet in the evening, is “Evidence of fatal combat within the ‘False Saber-Toothed Cats’ of the Great Plains: A murderous weapon indeed.”
