The Pandemic and Long-Term Care ~ UND's Sheila Liming

ND Long Term Care Assn.

Wednesday, June 17, 2020 - The pandemic is exacerbating the already difficult times for nursing homes. Here to discuss the financial challenges and the other pandemic obstacles is Shelly Peterson, president of the North Dakota Long Term Care Association. ~~~  On the surface, a library is a space for books. But for book enthusiasts, it's a place to try on new identities. You can challenge gender norms with Little Women, sail the high seas with pirates, contemplate morality with Frankenstein, and revolt with Animal Farm. "What a Library Means to a Woman: Edith Wharton and the Will to Collect Books," is a new book by Dr. Sheila Liming, an assistant professor of English at UND. In it, she explores novelist Edith Wharton's personal collection and what it meant to her, her heirs, and the literary world at large.
