Wednesday, March 24, 2021 - Dr. Joshua Wynne is the vice president for health affairs at UND and dean of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He joins us to discuss the “Fauci Effect,” a sharp increase in student applications experienced at UND and med schools nationwide. He’ll also share highlights from his presentation to the North Dakota Legislative Assembly, which highlighted many of the med school’s remarkable accomplishments. ~~~ He’s both a priest and an author. He’s Jaimie Parsley of Fargo. He visits with Bill Thomas. The Downstairs Tenant is a book of his short stories – and one play – set in North Dakota. They get called Prairie Gothic. There are tangled, difficult relationships; despair and sadness; and at least one ghost – all set in 1950s and 60s. Jamie reads part of a story and talks about the book – and how it relates to his calling as a writer and his calling as a priest. ~~~ Chuck Lura shares a Natural North Dakota essay about the March full moon.
