Comedian Greg Schwem ~ The Badlands Opera Project

Tuesday, May 14, 2019 – Greg Schwem is a stand-up comedian and syndicated columnist for the Chicago Tribune. He’s performed across the US and in five foreign countries. His travels inspired him to start a web series, A Comedian Crashes Your Pad, where he interviews his AirBnb hosts. The Badlands Opera Project will have its inaugural performance on Saturday at 7pm at Stickney Auditorium. It will feature the world premiere of the Fairy Tale Suite by composer Willem Oosthuysen and librettist Chandra McClelland. The suite is two miniature operas. In addition to the evening performance, a 10am “accessible” performance at the Dickinson library will accommodate young children or anyone with challenges that make it difficult to sit quietly for a fully staged performance.
