Dakota Journalists Podcast ~ Foreign-Owned Farmland ~ Sue Balcom on Edible Flowers

Thursday, May 30, 2019 – The newspaper associations of North and South Dakota are teaming up to sponsor The Dakota Journalists Podcast, which dives into the lives of the people behind the papers. We’re happy to share one of those episodes as host Teri Finneman leads a discussion about the challenges of being a woman journalist. In this episode, veteran reporters, editors, and publishers from across both Dakota discuss these trends from WW2 to the present. ~~~ Nearly 30 million acres of U.S. farmland are held by foreign companies. That’s a steep increase from just two decades ago, and one that is ringing alarm bells in farm communities. Renee Wilde reports for Harvest Public Media. ~~~ Sue Balcom is here with another episode of “Main Street Eats.” Today her topic is edible flowers. ~~~ Doug and Ashley have our What’s Happening calendar of events.
