In David Byrne's American Utopia, Voters Vote

davidbyrne.com

It took David Byrne six decades to become a U.S. citizen, and he doesn't take the privileges that come with it for granted. And so, during his recent American Utopia concerts and Broadway run, he set up a table in the lobby to register voters. He also used a spotlight during the show to illustrate that only 20 percent of those eligible usually show up at the polls. Jewel Kilcher has released her first new music in four years, a piano ballad that accompanies a documentary she co-produced with Rosario Dawson and Halle Barre that's out tomorrow. No More Tears chronicles the state of youth homelessness in America. And Sonoma Valley winery Echo Echo has put out their new red blend, Reality Estates in partnership with the New Jersey indie band known for their shimmering guitars, Real Estate.
