With photographs archived at the Smithsonian and the Library of Congress, Bismarck photographer Shane Balkowitsch has made a name for himself using an archaic style of photo processing known as wet plate photography. Bismarck filmmakers Greg DeSaye and Chelsy Ciavarella of Her, Him & The Fellas documented Shane for their new film, Balkowitsch, now streaming on Amazon. They spoke with Ashley Thornberg.
