MLK Observance with Theologian Peter Huff ~ Civil Rights Activist Georgia Gilmore ~ Renatus' Kayak

Monday, January 15 – Dr. Peter Huff, professor of theology at the University of Mary in Bismarck is the featured speaker for this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration. He joins us to preview the state’s annual observance. ~~~  The Kitchen Sisters, Davia Nelson & Nikki Silva, bring us a profile of Georgia Gilmore, a fearless cook who secretly fed — and funded — The Civil Rights Movement. ~~~~ Rozanne Junker has written “Renatus’ Kayak:  A Labrador Inuk, An American G.I. and a Secret World War II Weather Station.”  Rozanne is originally from Hamilton, ND.  The discovery of the secret weather station came about when her uncle, Woody Belsheim (originally from Turtle Lake) began telling of his war experiences.  The discovery of the weather station was a complete surprise to Canadian archaeologists and historians.
