ND #2 for Drunk Driving Fatalities ~ "School Retool" ~ Prairie Public Book Fairs

Thursday, May 17 – As the Memorial Day holiday nears, we get a highway safety reminder about drinking and driving. North Dakota ranks second in the United States for fatal accidents involving drunk drivers. 6.62 deaths per 100,000 residents. That number comes from a study done by Value Penguin, a consumer research company. Joining us is the author of the study, Joe Resendiz. ~~~ Jennifer Walcott Goldstein is a lifelong educator, working as a teacher, teacher coach and administrator. In this excerpt from The Cutting Ed Podcast, she visits with host Tom Gerhart about School Retool, a fellowship that takes place over the course of three to four months. ~~~ NDSU history professor Tom Isern shares a Plains Folk essay titled “Rhubarb Days.” ~~~ DeAnn Hopfauf and Marie Offutt are here to invite you to a series of book fairs coming to Fargo, Bismarck, and Minot. This is all about free books for children. When shopping at Barnes & Noble in Bismarck, Fargo, or Minot May 19th (or online May 19-24), a portion of your sale can be donated to provide books for kids as part of Prairie Public’s Share A Story events. Use promo code 12

318994 to participate. ~~~ Doug and Ashley have our What’s Happening calendar of events.
