ND COVID-19: death toll reaches 79; 37 new infections

Another North Dakotan has passed away with COVID-19, bringing the statewide death toll to 79.

The patient was a woman in her 80s from Cass County. She had underlying health conditions.

Additionally, 37 new individuals have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the state. The positives were from a pool of 3,227 tests for a daily positive rate of 1.1 percent.

The new statewide positive total is 3,495.

15 of the new cases were from Cass County. Seven new cases were from Burleigh County, and five were from Grand Forks County. There were three cases in Williams County, two in Stark County, and Grant, McIntosh, Mountrail, Traill and Walsh Counties each had one new case.

A total of 177,929 tests have been administered for COVID-19. 103,925 of those tests were on unique individuals.

There are 24 people currently hospitalized. There have been 226 total hospitalizations.

3,139 people have recovered from COVID-19. This leaves 277 total active confirmed cases.
