PTSD Awareness Month ~ E-Sports

Monday, June 3, 2019 – June is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Month. Dr. Laurie Nadel says it can be triggered simply by watching disturbing images, what she calls vicarious traumatization. Nadel is the author of “The Five Gifts: Discovering Hope, Healing and Strength When Disaster Strikes.” ~~~ It’s the latest thing in college and high school sports – e-sports! It even involves coaches and recruiting of e-sporting students. Here to tell us about this evolving student activity is Josh Knutson, former head esports coach at the University of Jamestown. He’s now the esports and virtual reality director for Bytespeed, an area computer company that has seen esports and virtual reality become popular emerging product lines.
