Remembering Roger Schobinger ~ Woodstock Revisited ~ News Chat ~ Review: "BlacKkKlansman"

Friday, August 17 – Roger Schobinger was known across North Dakota for speaking on the issue of HIV & AIDS. On August 1st, he passed away at the age of 63.  Today we share an excerpt from a conversation he recorded for the Red River Rainbow Seniors oral history project called “Breaking Barriers: Harvesting LGBTQ Stories from the Northern Plains.”  He visits with volunteer Bob Stone. ~~~ Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, which featured an incredible lineup of iconic rock starts. That anniversary has spawned the latest concert idea from Merrill Piepkorn. Area musicians will cover the legendary music performed at Woodstock, and they’ll do it outside at the Bluestem Amphitheatre. Merrill joins us to discuss the music, the acts and the historic concert that inspired the show. ~~~ News director Dave Thompson is here for this week’s discussion of the latest headlines. ~~~ Matt Olien reviews “BlacKkKlansman.”
