Sean Sherman, the Sioux Chef ~ Herbicide Concerns ~ Capitol Shakespeare ~ Marc Carter, Fair Salesman

Chef Sean Sherman, Oglala Lakota, born in Pine Ridge, SD is known as the Sioux Chef. His main culinary focus is “pre-reservation” indigenous knowledge of wild and traditionally cultivated food. On August 6th he’ll be presenting a traditional dinner at Coteau des Prairies Lodge, near Havana, ND. ~~~ Farmers are in a never-ending battle with weeds. Their main weapons are chemical herbicides, but could exposure to those chemicals cause cancer? Harvest Public Media’s Grant Gerlock reports. ~~~ The new Prairie Amphitheater at the Heritage Center in Bismarck is the new home for Capitol Shakespeare, and the venue opens this week with “A Comedy of Errors.” Here to discuss the new venue and several other developments for the theatre company are Erin Weichel, artistic director, and Emmalee Riegler, board president. ~~~ The North Dakota State Fair is underway in Minot.
