Seven new COVID-19 cases, including one child; 52 total cases

Seven new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed this morning in North Dakota, including the state’s first young child case. The new statewide total is 52.

The case is a male child between the ages of 0-9 from MacIntosh County. Contact tracing has yet to determine how the child contracted the disease.

The other patients include a McHenry County woman in her 80s, two Burleigh County women in their 20s, a Burleigh County woman in her 80s, a Burleigh County man in his 30s, and a Stark County woman in her 20s. Only one case was confirmed to be community spread, with the rest under investigation.

To date there have been 2,091 tests for COVID-19 in North Dakota. Two additional patients have been hospitalized, bringing the total to 10.
