Bismarck-Deadwood Stage Trail
4/11/2008: After the 1874 expedition led by George Armstrong Custer confirmed the discovery of gold in the Black Hills, the town of Bismarck experienced its first boom. Naval Heroes
5/7/2008: Perhaps it is the wind caressing the wheat fields, resembling ocean waves or just a love of adventure that draws North Dakotans to a life at sea. Choosing to join the Navy, Ensign Allen graduated from the Naval Academy in 1931 and in the mid-1930's he became part of the developing field of Naval aviation.
Gullikson’s Sears Home
5/5/2008: Across the state, many North Dakotans take advantage of the various sales catalogs appearing regularly in their mailboxes. Bobcat
5/15/2008: It was one year ago this day, May 15, 2007, that the Ingersoll-Rand Company announced plans to sell off its Bobcat machinery division. Bobcat’s parent company was hoping to move out of the construction machinery business, but was willing to wait for the right offer. The “right” offer came three months later from the South Korean firm Doosan Infracore, who bought Bobcat for a total of 4.9 billion dollars.
