Week at the Museum

9/19/2010:

On this date in 1981, workers for the State Historical Society were packing up objects for the grand move to the new building. Until then, all of the society's artifacts had been stored and displayed in the neighboring Liberty Memorial Building. Today the Historical Society is looking forward to an expansion that will exhibit, and care for, more of North Dakota's history.

While you can see many things on display, more objects are stored in the lower level. This protects the artifacts, and as objects are rotated, there's always something new to see at the Heritage Center.

This week, we're going to take a tour among the object-laden shelves, bringing you the stories behind the artifacts. Welcome to a week at the museum!
