Alexander Carron

4/28/2013:

On this date in 1907, residents of North Dakota were talking about the recent activities of a renowned outlaw. You may or may not have heard of Alexander Carron, but the Harvey Herald reported that he had “far surpassed the record of Jesse James or any other criminal of modern times.”

Carron was wanted in both the US and in Canada on charges ranging from petit to grand larceny, murder, horse stealing, and assault on an officer with intent to kill.

He had recently been housed at the Devils Lake jail, but he added “another chapter to his life career,” breaking out and making a clean getaway.

Add Carron to the catalog of infamous characters in the ever-changing Wild West.
