And so, during his recent American Utopia concerts and Broadway run, he set up a table in the lobby to register voters. He also used a spotlight during the show to illustrate that only 20 percent of those eligible usually show up at the polls. French band Phoenix recall in a new memoir their nearly disastrous appearance on Saturday Night Live in 2009, when Lorne Michaels gave them a backstage lecture about being too boring and their equipment almost conking out right before air time. And David Byrne made a triumphant appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this week, beautifully performing a song that appears in his highly acclaimed Broadway show American Utopia, with a young person's choir.

They say, while they individually need to do better and the industry as a whole has to change the way they operate, they will not be silenced when it comes to speaking out in the battle to fight climate change.  Beck has premiered two new songs off his forthcoming album Hyperspace, including a funky new number produced by Pharrell Williams. And Matt Berninger of The National and indie phenom Phoebe Bridgers have teamed up for a duet and video for the soundtrack to a new Zach Galifinakas movie.

Jerry Seinfeld makes a cameo at a famous deli in a very New York-centric video for Vampire Weekend's latest.
