Fargo, ND – Salvation Army Corps Community Centers around North Dakota are on stand-by -- ready and waiting to hear from those at Salavation Army officials in Washington D-C and New York City.

Major Joe Tamayo--Pastor and member of the Salvation Army in Fargo--says no one is sure when and if they will be called.

"We're on stand by and we're not sure when people will be called or if we will be called. But we're being prepared and ready should that call come."

She makes several suggestions to parents on how to talk to children about trauma and difficult events.

Bismarck, ND – About 100 Native Americans and others gathered last night for a special memorial service at the United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck.

The service combined traditional Indian ceremonies and prayers -- remembering those who've died in Tuesday's terrorist attacks and those who need healing. Carol Walker -- a United Tribes faculty member -- was among those attending the ceremony. She says there were prayers at many levels:

Fargo, ND – The North Dakota Air National Guard is on active duty.

Master Sergeant Dave Somdahl says it won't affect every member of the unit, but he says it is probably the biggest activation since the Korean War.

Somdahl says information on how many people were called to duty or what missions they are on are not available to the public. The unit flies 20 F-16 fighter planes.

Fargo, ND – In accordance with President George W. Bush's proclamation ordering that the flag of the United States be flown at half-staff through Sunday, North Dakota Governor John Hoeven is ordering the flag of North Dakota flown at half-staff until sunset, Sunday.

The Governor's order applies to the North Dakota State Capitol, and to all public buildings and grounds in the State of North Dakota.

Bismarck and Fargo, ND – Airlines are being allowed to resume limited flight service. But Fargo's Airport Director, Shawn Dobbertstein says it will take some time.

Dobberstein says when people arrive at the airport to board a flight, they should arrive at least two hours before their departure time.

Bismarck, ND – North Dakota Governor John Hoeven says state agencies and military installations implemented measures to increase security, it is important that we not overreact to the current situation. He says the stepped up security measures were taken to insure North Dakotan's safety. Hoeven says today all state agencies are functioning as usual.

Bismarck, ND – Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem wants North Dakota service stations to roll back any gasoline price increases -- to where they were before the terrorism attacks.

Fargo, ND – North Dakota Highway 200 over Garrison dam has reopened to local traffic.

North Dakota Governor John Hoeven says the North Dakota Highway Patrol will continue to provide security and monitor vehicles near the dam.

The highway was closed Tuesday following the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, D.C. Hoeven says local officials decided to close the Highway as a precaution.

Fargo, ND – Over 400 people donated blood Tuesday at the United Blood Service Centersin Bismarck, Minot, and Fargo.

Daryl Stensgaard is the Regional Vice President of United Blood Services in Fargo. He says the need for blood donations to help with the emergencies in New York City and Washington D.C. will be on-going as victims need surgeries over the next few days and weeks.

Stensgaard says the New York Blood Center needs O-negative, A-negative, and B-negative.
