The North Dakota legislature broke up North Dakota into 19 multi-county “human service zones” as an extension of the previous state legislative Senate Bill 2206 approved by lawmakers in 2017, to provide stronger services to the entire state. Chip Ammerman, Director of Cass County Social Services, says the basis for the legislation is strong.

The Special Olympics of North Dakota held their State Summer Games which included various amounts of Athletic events from Bocce Ball to Track and Field. Kaia Watkins, Games Director for the event, says she was happy to see such a great turnout for volunteers and athletes. Kaia says Special Olympics offers a lot to those who participate.

Wind energy is growing North Dakota's economy

North Dakota's future in wind energy is looking promising.

According to a study by North Dakota State University's Department of Agribusiness and Applied Economics, wind energy had an economic impact of more than 170-million dollars in 2016. Tammy Ibach is director of North Dakotans for Comprehensive Energy Solutions. She says the study predicts a growing future for North Dakota's energy strategy.
