The Stray Cats

Lee Rocker of the Stray Cats, whose rockabilly style stood out in the MTV era of spandex and synthesizers, pays tribute to his vintage rock instrument and some of the other "cats" who play upright bass on his new single, "Dog House Shuffle."  Baltimore electronic dance party maestro Dan Deacon, no stranger to lyrical death themes to contrast his upbeat, blippy sound, has a creepy new video out in time for Halloween that shows a decomposing woman getting eaten by maggots and beetles and then returning as a plant. And Sharon Van Etten has a new song that appears in the documentary about surrogacy, Made in Boise, which premiered on PBS last night.

Busy men, though they are, what, with all the production work, side-projects and fatherhood, but The Black Keys have carved out some time to make music together for the first time in five years, The Stray Cats have strutted their way to a forty year anniversary and are celebrating with a new album and tour,  Son Volt teases new album with gem of a new single awash in twelve-string guitar and The Cranberries release an animated video of one of the last songs they recorded with their late frontwoman, Delores O'Riordon.
