Another new wind farm is planned for southwestern North Dakota.

Public Service Commissioner Brian Kalk says the Brady Wind Energy Center will have up to 87 turbines, generating up to 150 megawatts of power.

"The project layout is in the southern end of Stark County, right where the county touches Hettinger County," said Kalk. "Or you could imagine, 6 miles north of New England."

Kalk says the company also wants to build a 230 kilovolt power line.

"It's from the center of the proposed location of the wind farm, running went to the Belfield-Rhame station, which is Basin Electric," said Kalk. "I believe Basin is going to be the company using the power from this wind farm."

The PSC will hold hearings on both the wind farm and the power line March 2nd at the Dickinson City Hall.

The wind farm will cost $235 million. The 19 mile power line has a $12 million price tag. And PSC staff say the company has already submitted paperwork for a Brady Two wind farm.
