Wednesday, February 20, 2019 Writer Raymond Strom was born in Minnesota, and grew up in North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, and Wisconsin. He draws upon that background in his debut novel, Northern Lights. It’s a gritty coming-of-age tale that explores drug addiction in a small town. ~~~ In this week’s Natural North Dakota essay, biologist Chuck Lura talks about the snowy owl. ~~~ From the Cutting Ed podcast with host Tom Gerhardt, we learn about how a switch from semesters to trimesters helped increase graduation rates in Solen and Cannon Ball. Gerhardt speaks with Superintendent Justin Fryer, and math teacher Vanessa Peach.
