Yazidi Genocide: 5 Years Later

Tuesday, August 6, 2019 – Thousands of Yazidi people were massacred or sold into sexual slavery during a brutal ISIL attack in 2014. Five years later, and those impacted say little is being done to help survivors. Ezzat Alhaidar is a Iraqi immigrant. He helped organize a Yazidi genocide commemoration event in Moorhead. The keynote speaker for the event, Matthew Travis Barber, is the former director of the Yazda humanitarian organization, which provides aid to thousands of displaced Yazidis.
