"South Sudan Reads" ~ Sue Balcom on Watermelon

Thursday, August 8, 2019 – The vast majority of South Sudanese people cannot read. More than 70% of the population is illiterate. Nyamal Dei founded South Sudan Reads to combat illiteracy. As of last week, she's also a card-carrying national member of the UN. She joins us for a conversation about her work. ~~~ Humans must drastically alter food production in order to prevent the most catastrophic effects of global warming, according to a U.N. report.
