Ten years ago, people in the Souris River basin were in the thick of the 2011 flood. Thousands lost their homes. People came from across the state to help rebuild, but tragedy also has a way of sparking greed. Illegitimate contractors who flocked to Minot stole thousands of dollars from homeowners.

Robert Kochel and Correne Poling's house was destroyed. In their attempt to rebuild, they lost thousands to a fraudulent contractor.
