A state district court judge has issued a preliminary injunction, which blocks North Dakota’s abortion trigger law from taking effect.
The law – which bans abortions except in the case of rape, incest or harm to the mother – was passed to take effect 30 days after the US Supreme Court overturned Roe versus Wade.
Judge Bruce Romanick of Bismarck issued the injunction, which will remain in effect pending further litigation.
Attorneys for the Center for Reproductive Rights say the abortion law is unconstitutional.
