An executive with the Greater North Dakota Chamber is seeking the GOP nomination for Insurance Commissioner.

Jon Godfread is the GNDC’s vice-president for governmental affairs. He is running to replace Adam Hamm, who announced he was not seeking another term.

"The best Insurance Commissioner is the one who protects consumers in a vigorous defense of their rights and pocketbooks, fosters a marketplace with fair and consistent regulation, and is accessible to consumers and agents alike," Godfread told Bismarck reporters. "It is this common-sense approach that I'll bring to the North Dakota Insurance Commissioner's office. If elected, I'll work hard to be the fair, consistent and accessible Insurance Commissioner they deserve."

No Democrat has yet announced for the office.
