October 24, 2021: Witness in the Dark

Sunday, October 24, at 5pm:

Tune in to hear "Witness In The Dark."

Witness in the Dark features two plays by Dominique Morisseau, a MacArthur Genius Grant recipient and Tony Award nominee for Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations.

First up is NIGHT VISION, featuring Obie winner April Matthis and Eden Marryshow and directed by Stori Ayers. In the piece, a Brooklyn couple questions what they saw on their street late at night - and whether they can trust their own eyes.

We finish with a live recording of JEZELLE THE GAZELLE, which was created for the 10x10 Festival at American Theatre Company Chicago and features Mirirai Sithole, directed by Goldie E. Patrick. Jezelle is a young girl who loves to run and race the boys in her neighborhood. Through her eyes, we experience the joy of competition - and the cost of growing up too fast.
