By now, you’ve probably heard of the recessions bill Congress passed that would eliminate $1.1 billion dollars from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Subsequently, the CPB announced it would cease operations on September 30. Prairie Public’s Erik Deatherage sat down with NPR's Morning Edition anchor Leila Fadel to talk about the importance of journalism for a thriving democracy, and how to properly pronounce her name.
