After serving the past 4-and-a-half years as North Dakota’s U-S Attorney, Tim Purdon says he will be stepping down…
“…For a number of reasons it’s time for me to move on. It’s sad. I really enjoyed being the U-S Attorney. It’s probably the best job I will ever have. But I’ve got some new challenges awaiting, so I’m excited about that as well.”
Purdon says in his time in office he has seen a lot of changes in North Dakota, and with those changes new challenges…
“…Really our top priorities over the last 4½ years have been increasing public safety on North Dakota’s Indian Reservations and then dealing with the increase in organized crime that’s come along with the increased population in the Bakken oil boom. That’s increased both drug trafficking as well as human trafficking.”
Purdon will step down from the office, March 12th. First Assistant U-S Attorney Chris Meyers will become acting U-S Attorney.
