UPDATED, 5PM CST: According to the North Dakota Department of Health, no COVID-19 was detected in the student in question.

A University of North Dakota student has been tested for COVID-19, also known as coronavirus, and has agreed to self-quarantine.

The test was conducted Monday and results are still pending. UND plans to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available. In the meantime, current students are encouraged to follow basic prevention practices to slow the spread of the illness - such as frequent hand washing, covering your cough or sneeze, staying home when ill, avoid touching your face and avoid contact with others who are ill.
